Saturday, October 29

How can we tell stories about the climate crisis for page, stage and screen?

Join us for this free writing workshop suitable for anyone who wants to pick up a pen and think about climate change.

We’ll talk, look at examples and take part in writing exercises in a fun, creative and supportive atmosphere.

Short plays developed in the workshops will be exhibited gallery style in Plymouth and Torbay.

COAST TO COAST is a project inspiring writers in Devon and Cornwall to respond to the climate emergency through performance. As the world moves towards the COP 27 Climate Change Conference in Egypt, theatre company Down Stage Write will be inviting professional and community writers to respond by taking part in workshops, sharings and performances in October and November.

Free writing workshops exploring Climate Change will take place in Plymouth and Torquay on 22nd and 29th of October. Aimed at anyone from first timers to professional writers these are a chance to tackle the idea of the climate emergency through writing and discussion. Short one page plays inspired by these workshops will be showcased gallery style in the venues for people to come and read.
