WonderZoo: Winds of Change

Upcoming Plymouth comedian Suzy Bennett will be headlining the first half. She is one of the three comedians who runs the hugely successful Plymouth Comedy Tours, rated five stars on Trip Advisor.

Headlining the second half of the gig will be musician Jamie Yost, a Devon based singer-songwriter. With a blend of soulful vocals and heart felt lyrics he flits between the acoustic, electric and keys. His sound has been compared to artists such as Ben Howard, Matt Corby and Daughter.

Other artists…

Lesley Constable – poet and artist. She will be sharing her beautifully written poetry that is influenced by her experiences in the USA, Mexico and her love of the arts.

Peter Roe – Former Bard of Dorchester, Peter is a working class poet and publicist. He’s been called “The male Pam Ayers” and his writing is often political, provocative and emotionally poignant.

Stefan Daniels – Debut poet – Stefan will share some poems that have been inspired by his experiences of working in the armed forces.

Doaa Shayea – Disability activist, athlete, public speaker and writer. Doaa writes about her feelings and experiences of being a wheelchair user and woman of colour. She is a passionate campaigner for disability rights and for creating greater awareness and understanding of the issues she and others face in life.

Kiera J Delerue – Lesbian autistic singer-songwriter, poet, writer, sound engineer, professional lingerer and all-round gentleman. Kiera will be sharing their original songs with us. For more of their work, check out www.corduroytroubador.com

Jackie Garrett – singer-songwriter and poet all the way from Land’s End, Cornwall. Jackie discovered her amazing creativity later in life after a career in Medicine. She has delved into visual arts, music, writing and working collaboratively with bands. Jackie will be sharing her original songs with us.

Michael Loopin – London based comedian, new to WonderZoo, will share a 6 minute monologue with us.

This event will also be livestreamed to Facebook.
