Sound Bath

Thursday, May 19

With Carly Seller

A sound bath is a therapeutic experience using tonal and rhythmic instruments to encourage the mind to safely enter an altered state of consciousness, similar to meditation. Join sound practitioner and artist, Carly Seller for this relaxing, immersive experience.

You are invited to lay down and relax amongst the artworks in the gallery as you are immersed in sounds from singing bowls, gongs, chimes, and percussion. Like sculptures, the sound vibrations from the instruments have different shapes, tones, and textures that evoke a range of responses in the body and mind. By reflecting on the sculptures in Breaking the Mould before entering the sound bath, this is a unique opportunity to engage with the artwork in an exciting and insightful way.

Sound can stimulate powerful and transformative experiences so may be unsuitable for those with serious mental health conditions including schizophrenia and psychosis, or during pregnancy.
