POETRY@thePPL: Matt Harvey + open mic

Welcome to the first edition of the PPL’s foray into the world of live poetry! Located in the characterful and intimate space that is Plymouth Proprietary Library (inside half of a converted church), these events will invite poets and fans of poetry alike to join us for an evening of reading, performing, and basking in the glow of the library’s mountain of books.

The evening will open its doors at 7PM for a 7:30 start, and will consist of two 25-minute open mic slots, followed by two 20-minute performances from our guest poet(s) of the evening. These will be interceded by a 10 minute break.

Entry to this event will be £5 OTD (cash only), or free for PPL members. To purchase a membership, giving you full access to our library services and events calendar, head over to our website.

Writer, poet, enemy of all that’s difficult and upsetting, Matt’s way with words has taken him from Totnes to the Wimbledon Tennis Championships via Saturday Live, the Edinburgh Festival and the Work section of the Guardian.

Open Mic:
If you would like to take the stage, there will be slots available to book in advance, or on the door, of roughly five minutes each. To grab one now and avoid disappointment, post on the events Facebook page!
