One of Plymouth’s most historic landmarks, the Mount Batten Tower, will be open on selected dates this summer:
Friday 4 August from 3pm until 7pm
Sunday 13 August from 10am until 3pm
Entry to the Tower is £2 per person (cash only at the Tower please, to pay by card please visit the Mount Batten Centre first) for a self-guided tour, with funds raised contributing to the ongoing management of the 17th Century Plymouth landmark through custodians Mount Batten Watersports & Activities Centre.
No pre-booking is required but there is a maximum number of 25 people allowed in the Tower at any one time – the team will ensure that any queue times are kept to a minimum.
Please note that due to the age and layout of the building, levels are uneven with steep, irregular steps to the top of the Tower and wheelchair access is not possible. Sensible footwear is required. Please also note that dogs are not permitted within the Tower.
Parking is available at the Centre for the Open Day but please ensure you register your car at reception first prior to walking to the Tower. Alternative ways to get to the Mount Batten peninsula include the Mount Batten Ferry, bus or walking via The South West coast Path.
