Exhibition and events by CAMP artists
Preview Friday 4 November 2022, 5pm-7pm
Continues 5 – 12 November 2022, 12noon-6pm (3000 minutes)
At Vacancy Atlas, 107 Cornwall Street, Plymouth
CAMP artists present an eclectic exhibition of wall based and moving image work.
We’ve timed ‘HOW LONG’ to take place during the British Art Show in Plymouth. A kind of ‘fringe’ event, though we’re not sure we like the term ‘fringe’. So if you’re coming along to ‘HOW LONG’ make sure you leave enough time to visit the British Art Show.
HOW LONG is an exhibition and programme of events loosely held together around the theme of time. CAMP members were invited to submit a wall based work for the exhibition, and detail how long it took them to make it. And alongside the 2d work we’ll be screening the ‘One Minute Film Festival’ – a series of over 40 one minute films by CAMP artists.
As well as the exhibition, there is a series of events and workshops:
WALK: TO AN ANCIENT ELDER TREE
Saturday 5 November 2022, 2.30pm-3.11pm (41 minutes)
Meet at Vacancy Atlas, 107 Cornwall Street, Plymouth
Free, open to all, no booking needed
Nicola Westlake will take you through the city centre and up to the Hoe to converse with an ancient elder tree. Nicola will lead the way dressed in a hat decorated with hanging leaves and branches, talking about the mythology of the trees we encounter on the way. We will then photograph, draw and film the mystical elder tree up on the Hoe.
