Communicating the Climate Crisis (8+)

Friday, November 19

How can we effectively communicate the climate crisis? Join us for a debate.
The scientific language surrounding climate change is undeniably complex, so too is the web of misinformation. How, as societies and individuals, can we communicate more effectively on the issue of a lifetime?

Join the Young Reporters and students who have created work for Illuminate, plus Luke Pollard MP and Alan Qualtrough, former editor of the Western Morning News to discuss how to galvanise urgently needed, real action.

After the discussion, the Theatre Royal Young Company will perform When This Is Over in association with Company Three and Nick Hern Books – a new play capturing young people’s stories about the past, present, and the future. Join us in the 15m Market Hall immersive dome for a performance unlike your normal theatre experience.

As world leaders gather for COP26 in November, When This Is Over is a play in which young people tell the stories of their lives. It is about those pivotal moments that change your life forever – staged at a pivotal time in history.

Age guideline: 8+
