Join us for some fun active wellbeing workshops celebrating Black History Month in Plymouth!
About this event
Black History Month was founded to recognise the contributions that people of African and Caribbean backgrounds have made to the UK over many generations, Over the years Black History Month has expanded to include the history of not just African and Caribbean people but black people in general. This year we are putting together a whole month of events to celebrate and raise awareness of Black History in Plymouth. These events help increase the visibility of the diverse communities, business owners, organisations and networks in Plymouth and help our friends, neighbours, partners and ourselves become leaders in addressing diversity issues.
In collaboration with Theatre Royal Plymouth, we will be organising 4 well-being sessions to encourage everyone to join us and participate in some fun yet sociable active classes. We are working with local dance instructors who are passionate and vocal about mental health and well-being and who will lead the classes.
Organising well-being workshops will allow us to raise awareness of the importance of well-being and mental health crisis in the Black and Brown communities. We hope it minimises stress levels and improves/boosts people’s morale.
