Beyond Face Summer Writing Workshops: Playfulness/Telling the Story of You

Friday, August 18

We’ll dive into the playful side of writing in this workshop exploring how to bring fresh energy to your work and how you talk about it.

Come along to the final workshop of our Summer Writing series with this session aimed at finding joy in your writing as well as looking at how you can tell the story of you, equipping you with the tools to write a bio that represents both yourself and the work that you want to create.

The workshop will be split into two parts:

  1. Playfulness in Writing

An opportunity to rediscover joy within your writing. Be guided through exercises to find different perspectives and routes into finding characters, scenarios, metaphors and tapping into your imagination to tell the stories you didn’t even realise you could dream up!

Telling the story of yourself- How do you talk about who you are and the work that you do to a wider audience? How do you see yourself as a writer? How do you want others to view you and the work you create? This part of the workshop will encourage you to start to ask these questions of yourself and come away with the story of you.

This workshop is suitable for all levels.

Please Note: This workshop is for those who identify as Global Majority*

*Global Majority includes people who are from African and Caribbean diasporas, people who are South Asian, East Asian, South East Asian, North African, Middle Eastern, and ethnically mixed heritages.

Beyond Face is a South West based Theatre Company.
