A physical approach to screen acting workshop

Saturday, March 26

A one day practical workshop with a 3 hour preparatory online meet the week before.

An exploration of a physical approach to gain a repeatable authenticity, allowing the actor to be in the moment and connected to an inner ‘truth’ which transmits on screen.

This is part of our practical CPD offer which is suitable for and tailored to both professional and emerging/training actors.

This course is broken into 3 sections:

Part one:

Saturday 19th March 10:30am – 1:30pm – Online

(3 hours – possibly shorter dependant on the group needs)

This session is a preparatory session to gage and meet the group, outline the plans and begin work on the scripts/scenes and characters that we will work on in the practical workshop.

Part two and three:

Saturday 26th March 10am – 5pm – Abbey Hall

AM – An introduction to and practical exploration of the physical approach, breaking it down into a number of sections.

PM – Filming the scenes, watching, reviewing and reflecting.

Led by: Kevin Johnson

Filming: in partnership with South of Devon Films
