Street Factory embody the idea that “knowledge is something you should share”, every member has a responsibility to pass on the knowledge they gain to the wider community.
By empowering, valuing and instilling a true sense of self belief and hope into each and every one of it’s members, Street Factory allows for personal growth through the use of hip-hop and dance whilst also reinforcing the duty of the individual to the community. “Once we manage to instil a sense of pride in the young people, this has a knock on effect and helps them to rise to the challenges their life puts in front of them. We teach them tools and skills so they can begin to react differently to the difficulties they face, growing resilience and a sense of purpose.”
From their Community Hub, Street Factory run extra curricular classes, from hip hop classes for families, commercial classes, dance crews, youth clubs, holiday clubs, mentoring sessions, hip hop theatre, over 60s classes, under 18s discos, cultural days and festivals.
