KARST

Founded in 2012, by artists wanting to develop and artist-led space in Plymouth, Karst has grown to become the largest independent gallery space in the South West, producing and showing the best international contemporary art. Based in an iconic, industrial building, Karst are known to think beyond the walls, creating projects and art anywhere.

To artists, Karst offers an experimental workshop, a safe place to take risks, a place for ambitions beyond defined outcomes. It’s also an incubator for new talent.

Karst believe art has the transformative power with the ability to shape the cultural identity of our city. By hearing the voices of the underrepresented members of the community, Karst created an inclusive, inspirational, creative place to be.

The ambition of Karst is to be sustainable, to achieve rigorous quality, and to be the best they possibly can in all they do.
